Lady Blue Devils Bounce Back with Defensive Effort Win over Clemson

The 10th ranked lady Duke Blue Devils bounced back after an emotional loss against in state rival NC State, with a 74-55 win over Clemson Thursday night.


Four players reached double figures being led by Freshman Toby Fournier scoring 20 points on 9 of 12 shooting, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 blocks.

Reigan Richardson, who had been in a bit of a slump in recent memory scored 12 points, with 5 rebounds, and 3 assist.


Defensively, Coach Kara Lawson has reiterated consistency and togetherness. This came after the Blue Devils allowed multiple double digit scoring quarters and season high 36 points to NC State's leading scorer Aziaiha James in a 89-83 loss Monday. The Blue Devils against the Tigers forced 27 turnovers, ultimately leading to 35 points.


Duke also received solid contributions from marksman and combo guard Ashlon Jackson with 15 points. Oluchi Okananwa finished with 14 points, including 5 of 5 from the field.


Up Next for the Blue Devils is a home contest versus Miami on Sunday evening at 2PM.
