Duke Sends Hurricanes to 0-6 in Conference With 89-54 Blow-Out Win

The #3 ranked Duke Blue Devils cruised to a 35 point blow out win Tuesday Night against the winless in conference Miami Hurricanes, connecting on 11 of 17 first half three point attempts. Duke who moved to 7-0 in conference and maintains a 2 game lead over Clemson were firing on all cylinders, led by freshman Kon Knueppell who led all scorers with 25 points including 6 of 8 from downtown.


Freshman sensation Cooper Flagg flirted with a triple double with 13 points , 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. After the game he spoke on what is next for the Blue Devils and remaining consistent defensively.




 


Defensively the Blue Devils held Miami to a season low 54 points, who entered the contest averaging 77 points per game. According to basketball analyst KenPom Duke is the only team in the country that ranks top 5 in offensive and defensive efficiency.





 

Numbers Don't Lie

According to KenPom Duke is averaging 1.41 points per possession; Defensively they're allowing 0.86 per possession. Overall the efficiency jumped from 35.78 previously to 36.62; Quite remarkable numbers.


The Blue Devils Ball movement told the tale with the team tallying 25 assists on 34 field goals which were more than the total amount of field goals Miami made the entire game.


Man in the Middle

Khaman Maluach recorded a career high in rebounds with 15 including 6 offensive which helped Duke create more opportunities from deep. This outing made it two straight double-doubles for the center.
