Duke Blue Devils Extend Win Streak to 15 with Blowout win over UNC

The number 2 ranked Duke Blue Devils extended it's win streak to 15 games Saturday with a 87-70 win over arch rival North Carolina. The score didn't due it justice with how apart this game was with the Blue Devils being led by freshman Cooper Flagg, who finished with 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assist.

Cooper Flagg, who is the presumptous number 1 pick in the 2025 NBA draft said after the game, "I'm never really satisfied" when speaking on Duke going into the half up by 25 points.

Freshman Kon Knueppel shared Flagg's same sentiment with acknowledging Jon Scheyer preached on North Carolina having the capability to fight back into the contest. Kon arguably had his best debut in the rivalry finishing with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, including 2 of 4 from deep.



As a collective, the Blue Devils shot an astounding 10-20 (50%) from the perimeter, extending its biggest lead of the contest to 32 points.


Defensively, the Blue Devils had the most deflections with 32 in the contest marking it the most of any game of the season. This was catapulted by Maliq Brown who returned to action after suffering a lower leg injury four games ago.


Head coach Jon Scheyer and team spoke on Maliq's presense stating it takes the team into a different dimension. The Blue Devils have a two game road stretch this week with contest at Syracuse and Clemson.
