Trailing by five in the concluding quarter, needing a pivotal win to erase the sour taste of potential back to back losses, Duke rallied a 14-5 run to put the nail in the coffin at Virginia, slipping by 60-55.

The Blue Devils Oluchi Okananwa helped pace the Devils to victory leading all scorers with 17 points with 7 boards with an efficient shooting exhibition six of eleven from the field, two of three from downtown.

Taina Mair, the floor general facilitated six dimes to more importantly, zero turnovers. Ashlon Jackson contributed eleven points on five of twelve from the field. Toby Fournier, after returning last game versus UNC, dropped eight points to seven boards.

The difference in the contest was the bench points with Duke having a sizable advantage 30-0, which ultimately help the Blue Devils leave Virginia in victory fashion. In addition, Duke set a season high 22 offensive rebounds, which set tempo and establish dominance on the interior, giving the Blue Devils 15 more shot attempts.

Virginia's tough and tenacious defense made Duke dig deep and play through the physicality, something they were exposed to versus UNC in a loss. The zone caused problems for the Blue Devils as well, with both teams scoring a combined 20 points in the first quarter.

Next up for the Blue Devils is a contest at home Thursday versus #24 ranked California.
