Danger Zone for Wolfpack After Loss at Wake

The NC State Wolfpack who were searching for a pivotal road win in conference play dropped yet another contest 77-59. A team who has been searching for chemistry, flow in offense and tenacity cut the Wake Forest lead to as close to 4 points in the second half before the Deacons extended the lead to 14 points before finishing the contest in victory fashion. The Deacons have been on the wrong side of the NCAA bubble in recent history and due to a down season thus far in conference play this win was a necessity for both squads.

Dontrez Styles tallied his first double-double on the year, logging 11 points, to 10 rebounds. Senior Marcus Hill led the Pack with 14 points on 7 of 12 from the field. Floor general and marksman Michael O'Connell finished with 10 points, the only other Pack player to reach the double digit margin.

Prior to the contest the Pack were 8-1 on the year when outscoring their opponents on the interior. That stat became 8-2 as the Deacons outscored the Pack 38-20.

A team that is continuing to find its rhythm and identity remains trying to fill the void as times throughout the contest Steve Forbes limited the Pack to a rushed shot selection, and inability to get out in transition.

Coach Kevin Keatts may have the biggest mystery solving the distinction between closing out games and finding a bonafied two way combo guard on this years Pack team.

The Pack return home Wednesday when they welcome the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame who lost in thrilling fashion versus UNC Saturday at home. .
