Can the Tar Heels bounce back with a rematch vs Alabama looming.

It's been a tough start for the UNC Tar Heels to start the 2024-2025 campaign. Currently the Heels are 4-3. Carolina has played a gauntlet to begin the season losing to #1 Kansas, #2 Auburn, and a Michigan State team that is ranked #25 in the coaches poll and just outside the top 25 of the AP poll. Tomorrow is a rematch of last years Sweet Sixteen matchup vs #10 Alabama. Alabama and Nate Oats has won two in a row vs Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels. What can the Tar Heels do to get back on track and enact some revenge vs Alabama?

  1. Get RJ Davis going: The senior guard is shooting just 37% from the field and only 28% from 3. If Carolina is going to win this matchup he has to win his matchup vs Mark Sears, who has also gotten off to a slow start to the season shooting the ball

  2. Improve the defense: The Tar Heels are giving up 80.1 points per game which is 339th out of 364 teams in the nation. While UNC plays at a fast pace they don't have much of an interior presence which can be an issue finishing possessions on the defensive end.

  3. Start games quicker: A trend in this season is the Heels starting games off slow and digging themselves out of holes just to run out of gas. Carolina cannot afford to keep playing like this, especially vs quality opponents. A fast start could be a path to victory against a quality opponent
