That motto is something head coach for the women's Lady Blue Devils, Kara Lawson has reiterated through 5 game of the season. In those contest, Duke has been on the opposing teams' home court, unafraid of what Coach Kara Lawson calls it battle tested.
"We are playing at all the places that people are scared to go, because they're scared they may lose; I'm scare I may lose to, but I ain't afraid to play it"
Coach Lawson stated players wanting to be challenge attributes to them learning more about themselves as a collective.
"Nobody wants to blow anyone out by 60, what does that do for ya; That doesn't do anything for ya; We just play people, and it doesn't feel good in the moment. I'd rather know what we got ; I'd rather know where are weaknesses are; I got the craziest non-conference schedule in the country"
The Blue Devils on the season have played at South Dakota State, Maryland, Liberty with trips to defending champion South Carolina in 3 weeks. A neutral site matchup with Kansas State will be intriguing for a early season test for Coach Lawson. Whether you agree with being tested early or late in the season, Coach Lawson has made it known, her players will be a reflection of herself, and she shy's away from no competition.
